Invitation to the Teaching Day / Teaching Futures November 15th and 16th 2023
Dear colleagues,
dear students,
dear staff-members,
I would like to invite you to the Teaching Day at University of Marburg, which will be held for the first time as a two-day event on November 15 and 16, 2023, with an exciting program on the topic of "Teaching Futures - Zukünfte der Lehre". It is a joint endeavor with Justus Liebig University Giessen (JLU) and Technische Hochschule Mittelhessen (THM).
You can look forward to
- two keynotes on the topics "Role of students in teaching and learning" by Prof. Dr. Kelly Matthews (Queensland University, Australia) and "AI in higher education teaching" by Prof. Dr. Marko Kalz (Pädagogischen Hochschule Heidelberg);
- an open discussion among faculty in online sessions on didactics, internationalization, technologies, competencies of students and faculty of the future;
- a panel discussion with faculty and students from all three universities on the future of teaching;
- short presentations on current topics in higher education didactics (AI, virtual reality, futures skills, etc.) and
- interviews with the 2022 teaching award winners about their experiences.
The celebratory close will be the awarding of the teaching prizes to this year's winners on November 16, starting at 6:00 p.m. (CET) in the lecture room "Synmikro" on the Lahnberge. Afterwards, we will conclude the evening with drinks and musical accompaniment at a get-together.
The entire program will take place in the "Synmikro" and online as well as partly in English and can be found at https://www.uni-marburg.de/teachingfutures .
Together with the department for teaching development and university didactics, I am looking forward to meeting you at an exciting event. I wish you many new interesting ideas for your teaching experience!
Kind regards
